Being of Brazilian heritage, Tera became familiar with Brazilian music at a young age. She began playing guitar at age 12 and has been playing Bossa Nova and Samba ever since. She has studied music in both Brazil and the U.S. and has performed in solo, duo, trio, and full band settings for the last 20 years. Influenced by Antonio Carolos Jobim, João Gilberto, Dorival Caymmi, Cartoloa, Pixinguinha, Toquinho, Carlos Lyra, João Bosco, and many others, she brings a fresh authentic sound to the well known classics of Brazilian Jazz and Samba.
