The Scorpion Decides is a contemporary jazz group with members now living in San Diego and Phoenix. The Scorpion Decides make music that combines free jazz dialect, breakbeat science and electronic manipulation. The Scorpion Decides performs original music that melds breakbeat rhythmic concept with free jazz syntax into a unified whole. The group has released live recordings entitled The Desert Will Prevail showcasing their quick footed interaction and unique sound language, a collaborative recording with San Diego based group Ogd_S(11) Translation Has Failed entitled New Encinitas and most recently, The Desert Will Prevail Volume Two, recorded live at The Nash.
